Kim Sin

Kim Sin

Greetings!

I’m Kim Sin, originally hailing from Korea, and I’m thrilled to be part of the team at Cadboro Bay Optometry here in the stunning city of Victoria.

My journey in opticianry commenced in 2002 when I obtained my optician license in Korea, kickstarting my career in an eye clinic. Since then, I’ve honed my skills through diverse roles in optical shops, accruing valuable experience along the way.

In 2009, I made the move to Edmonton, Canada, where I continued my professional journey. It was in 2017 that I earned my Canadian optician license and furthered my career in Edmonton. With a rich background spanning both Korea and Canada, I am committed to delivering patient-centric services. After all, your glasses are an extension of your identity.

Dr. Samantha Bourdeau

Dr. Bourdeau received her Bachelor of Science from the University of Manitoba in 1997, and her Doctor of Optometry degree in 2001 from the University of Waterloo. From there she went on to complete a one year ocular disease residency in Miami, Florida where she worked alongside cornea, retina and glaucoma surgeons.  Since then she has owned several practices in both Alberta and BC, and has a special interest in geriatric optometry.

Dr. Kelsey Ford

Dr. Kelsey Ford

Dr. Ford is passionate about creating a memorable eye care experience for all patients.  She was influenced to attend Pacific University College of Optometry because her mother had a very high prescription and always said she was "legally blind".  Dr. Ford learned how to explain terms like these and others to patients so they can understand them.  She traveled to Chattanooga, TN where she was trained at OMNI eye specialists in co-managing cataracts, glaucoma, macular degeneration,  corneal transplants, LASIK, and other surgical procedures.  She did her thesis work in Orthokeratology and has an interest in contact lenses and dry eye management.

After owning practices in Colorado and Alberta with her husband, they have relocated to Vancouver Island with their two children to enjoy more months outside in this beautiful climate with wonderful people.
