Meet Our Eye Doctors in Victoria, British Columbia
Dr. Samantha Bourdeau brings more than 20 years of experience and a deep commitment to patient-centered eye care. She completed her Bachelor of Science at the University of Manitoba in 1997 and earned her Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of Waterloo in 2001.
Following graduation, Dr. Bourdeau completed an intensive one-year residency in ocular disease in Miami, Florida. Her residency training included close collaboration with cornea, retina, and glaucoma specialists, providing advanced clinical experience that continues to inform her comprehensive approach to eye health today.
Over the course of her career, Dr. Bourdeau has owned and operated several optometric practices in Alberta and British Columbia. She has a particular interest in geriatric eye care and in the diagnosis and management of dry eye disease. By focusing on personalized care and evidence-based treatment options, she works closely with patients to improve both comfort and long-term visual function.
Now proud to call Victoria home, Dr. Bourdeau is committed to delivering attentive, high-quality care to patients at Cadboro Bay Optometry, and she also provides care at Ray Dahl Optical & Optometrists.
Dr. Ford is passionate about creating a memorable eye care experience for all patients. She was influenced to attend Pacific University College of Optometry because her mother had a very high prescription and always said she was "legally blind". Dr. Ford learned how to explain terms like these and others to patients so they can understand them. She traveled to Chattanooga, TN where she was trained at OMNI eye specialists in co-managing cataracts, glaucoma, macular degeneration, corneal transplants, LASIK, and other surgical procedures. She did her thesis work in Orthokeratology and has an interest in contact lenses and dry eye management.
Greetings!
I’m Kim Sin, originally hailing from Korea, and I’m thrilled to be part of the team at Cadboro Bay Optometry here in the stunning city of Victoria.
My journey in opticianry commenced in 2002 when I obtained my optician license in Korea, kickstarting my career in an eye clinic. Since then, I’ve honed my skills through diverse roles in optical shops, accruing valuable experience along the way.
In 2009, I made the move to Edmonton, Canada, where I continued my professional journey. It was in 2017 that I earned my Canadian optician license and furthered my career in Edmonton. With a rich background spanning both Korea and Canada, I am committed to delivering patient-centric services. After all, your glasses are an extension of your identity.
Dr. Mika Lu was born and raised in Vancouver. After completing her studies at the University of British Columbia, she earned her Doctor of Optometry degree with Dean's Honours at the University of Waterloo.

Dr. Lu strongly believes that preventive care and patient education are essential to maintaining healthy eyes. She is dedicated to working collaboratively with patients to optimize their vision by addressing individual needs and creating customized treatment plans, offering a broad spectrum of advanced eye care options.
Outside of the clinic, she enjoys playing sports, cooking, practicing piano, and spending quality time with friends and family.
Meet Our Staff in Victoria, British Columbia
Hi, I’m Paige! I’ve been working in the optometry field on and off since 2019, gaining experience in both clinical and retail settings. Over the years, I’ve developed a strong passion for helping people take care of their dry eyes through treatment and coming up with personalized at home care to get the most manageable and comfortable eyes possible. I strive to create a positive and welcoming experience for everyone who walks through the door.
Since moving back to the island, I have been working with this clinic in Cadboro Bay, as well as two clinics up in Sidney. During the time spent with patients that have been treated for dry eyes, I have been inspired to go back to school, which keeps me busy while I’m not in the clinic, working with the patients that continue to remind me why I’m doing this.
